ANDALYN HONSELAAR

Hi! My name is Andalyn Honselaar (she/her), and I’m an actress and intimacy professional for stage and screen. Originally from San Diego, I got my BFA in acting from UC Santa Barbara and will be completing my MFA in acting from DePaul University in June of 2026!

I’m an actor because I like asking questions and learning new things through total embodiment- getting to think with the mind, body, and spirit. However, the most fulfilling aspect of acting is in serving my community. There’s no civilization without art!

My gift to the world is catharsis - I want my art to lay people’s demons to rest and safeguard their angels. I can achieve this through acting; by being the mirror that society can see itself through - and see all of the good, bad, ugly, strange and lovely. To be this mirror one must have great empathy and courage, two things that come naturally to me as a middle child.

I am most interested in movement work, having trained in corporeal mime, contact improv, and movement devising. My attraction to movement led me very naturally into creating my own works, notably my original play Hand Me Down, devised and performed with creative partner Kirsten Høj, and my original solo piece which is currently in process.

I discovered intimacy direction through a movement class taught by the incomparable Toranika Washington. I am earning my certification through the Intimacy Professionals for Theatre and Cinema program at DePaul University, where I find myself drawn to intimate stories that live in the fantastical and abstract.

Andalyn is available for local hire in Chicago and San Diego.
